Study, Pray, Serve: A Hayes Barton Baptist Bible Study - September 13
(SPS) is a new weekly program for adults beginning this fall on Monday nights. Led by teachers Mary Beth Johnston and Jason Tomberlin, SPS will offer women and men an opportunity for in-depth Bible study with a focus on Christian doctrine and discipleship. Participants will be encouraged to prepare carefully and prayerfully for each week’s session. The format of the program is designed to create an open, interactive and welcoming environment, with a goal that participants through a richer and potentially deeper understanding of Scripture are better prepared to serve Christ.  The first study, beginning on September 13th at 6:30 pm (Danielson Class Rm. 256), will be on Paul’s Letter to the Romans. To register, email Christine at cmoore@hbbc.net  by Sept 8th. Study guides will be provided at a nominal cost.

Companions in Christ for Women
Are you ready to start a journey?  To deepen your experience of God?  To explore the fullness of life in Christ through spiritual practices?  To receive the grace and guidance of the Spirit in community?  If so, you are invited to join the Companions in Christ session that begins this Fall. Classes will be held on Tuesday afternoons starting in late September. Contact Cindy Tuttle (cynthiawtuttle@aol.com; 461-0022) for more information.

Annual Business Meeting - September 15

Baptist Men's Breakfast - September 26
Please join the men of Hayes Barton for breakfast on Sunday, September 26, at 8 A.M. All men, women and children of the church are invited. We will have an excellent program presented by NC Baptist Men's Leader Richard Brunson on the work of Baptist Men around the world. It is truly amazing what is being accomplished in the Lord's service. You will not want to miss this. You may make reservations by calling Cathy Eller at the church office (833-4617) or by email, celler@hbbc.net. Cost is $5.00 per person.

Can you knit or crochet or want to learn how?
We are beginning a Prayer Shawl Ministry at HBBC through which we gather together on a regular basis to knit or crochet shawls and other items which would be given to people who may be going through difficult times. The key component of this ministry is that you PRAY as you make it for the person who may receive your shawl. Prayer is the basis for the entire program. To read more about similar programs you can go to www.shawlministry.com and find prayers, patterns and information. Those interested in learning more or joining us can contact: Gail Liston 845-7349; gail_liston@yahoo.com or Cathy Howard 782-8142; cathybhoward@yahoo.com.
