We love children! Because of that love, we try to connect with our 1st through 5th graders on a level that best aligns with their learning style.
Our Teaching Staff
Knowing that this age group learns through relationships we try to maintain a consistency in our teaching staff during Sunday School. These caring teachers volunteer because they want to connect with your child on a level that will help them know and better understand God and all the wonderful things He has promised us.
Like all children’s workers at Hayes Barton, these teachers are certified through our child protection policy in order to ensure the safety of your child.
Sunday Morning Worship for Children
Our Sunday morning worship offers great experiences for our children to encounter God in new and exciting ways.
On the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month (Sept-May), Children’s Church is held, where the children start out in our corporate worship service and leave halfway through to lead in an interactive worship geared more towards their age-level. The children meet in room 267 during part of the time and then break up in small groups.
On the Sundays that Children’s Church does not meet, a children’s bulletin is provided so that the children are able to follow along and still participate in our corporate worship experience.
Older children are also offered the opportunity to lead in our Sunday morning corporate worship service by lighting the candles on the communion table as the acolyte.
Wednesday Family Night
On Wednesday evenings there are missions and music classes geared especially towards your child’s age-level. Our boys participate in a mission’s group called Royal Ambassadors for Christ and our girls participate in a program called Girls in Action. Both groups provided an opportunity to learn about missionaries and do mission action. Children’s choir gives children a time to praise God through song and prepare musicals to lead our church in worship.
Special Events
Throughout the year, special events are planned for children and their families. Parents’ Night Out, Mission Fair and Car Race, Vacation Bible School, Family Game Night, and Fall Festival are just some of the activities that are available throughout the year.
