Hayes Barton Baptist Church Prayer Ministries
The Prayer Ministry has been expanded over the past two years to include the following groups with a focus on a strong commitment for prayer. 1 Peter 3:12 teaches us that the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayers.
Confidential Prayer Ministry available!
From time to time, we become aware of prayer concerns that are too personal for publication in the church Prayer Concern list. For those situations, we have formed a small prayer team who meet weekly to pray together for the persons with confidential prayer needs. Prayer request forms and envelopes are available on the counter in the main hallway across from the Fellowship Hall. To submit a concern, simply complete the form and drop it in the envelope dropbox beside the church office window. You may also notify us at 334-6001 or email to prayer@hbbc.net
Bereavement Prayer Ministry
Fifteen members make up this team, and each member prays every day for one year for a church member’s family that has experienced a death of someone within the family. Each team member often prays for three to four families at a given time.
Letters are sent to the grieving families three times a year to let them know that they are being lifted up in prayer. In a year's time, over 14,600 prayers are offered for those suffering the loss of a loved one. It is a wonderful ministry - it means so much to those who are being prayed for and to those who are praying. The prayer team members find blessings in their own lives from the commitment to pray daily for others.
Critical Prayer Ministry
This prayer team responds immediately when someone is experiencing immediate critical medical issues. The group is notified and they begin praying for the person who is in need of prayer.
Home Prayer Network Ministry
The prayer group consists mostly of members who are not able to come to the church. They receive in their mail the church communications, including the Prayer Concerns lists from which lets them know who is in need of prayer.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Members who participate are interested in knitting shawls for those who are in the midst of difficult medical issues. The shawls are prayed over and knit together with love and prayer concerns for those in need.
We invite and urge you to pray about your involvement in the Prayer Ministry of our church. You can join one of these groups or just continue to pray for those in our church on the Prayer Concern List which is prepared weekly. We desire and encourage new groups to form which we think of as "Face to Face" groups that meet regularly for prayer at a place and time of their choosing.
"Where 2 or 3 are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them"
